| | This semester I began working out and getting in shape. I'm not in it just to build muscle for looks, but to condition myself to be athletic and competitive. I stayed true to a schedule of lifting weights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays while doing boxing conditioning training Tuesdays and Thursdays. In addition to this, I played tennis maybe three to four times a week as well as basketball and football. All in all, I'm probably the most fit I've ever been in my life... not just strength but conditioning, stamina and endurance.
I really owe it to anh Hieu who got me into shape. He really pushed me to my limits everyday and though I've never in my life had issues with weight I am much leaner and stronger. This summer, however, I will be by myself and totally accountable for everything I do. I plan to push myself harder in the summer than this semester.
Why do I do it? Besides just being healthy and fit it is a mental challenge for me. Each time I workout I want to push that mental barrier and get my body to go beyond itself. I feel that often I am capable of much more than I know except my mind holds me back.
So this summer, besides getting stronger overall and becoming a better athlete and boxer I will get a 6-pack. This is a challenge between anh Hieu and myself. By the end of the summer, we must both have it. In a sense, we are pushing each other since we expect each other to have it by the end of the summer. Let's see how far my mind and body can go.
